Flow Meter

Flow Meters

Flow meters are devices used to measure the rate at which a fluid (liquid or gas) flows through a pipeline or conduit. They are widely used in various industries for monitoring and controlling the flow of fluids in processes, systems, and equipment. Flow meters provide valuable information about the quantity of fluid passing through a specific point, helping with process optimization, resource management, and quality control.

Here are some common types of flow meters

  • Differential Pressure Flow Meters

These meters measure flow rate by creating a pressure drop across a constriction in the pipeline. Examples include Orifice Plates, Venturi Tubes, and Flow Nozzles.

  • Ultrasonic Flow Meters

These meters use ultrasonic waves to measure flow velocity and calculate flow rate by analysing the time it takes for ultrasonic signals to travel between transducers.

  • Magnetic Flow Meters

Also known as electromagnetic flow meters, they measure flow based on Faraday’s law of electromagnetic induction, which uses a magnetic field to induce voltage in a conductive fluid.

  • Positive Displacement Flow Meters

These meters measure flow by dividing the fluid into specific, known volumes and counting these volumes as they pass through the meter.
